Many of us will recognise Kim’s work from her Skullman character as well as her apocalyptic and cyberpunk environment designs. Kim spoke with us about her process, inspirations, how she came to draw skulls, and left some advice for aspiring artists.

This week we spoke with Karl Poyzer, UK-based cinematographer and sci-fi concept artist. Poyzer works in both 2D and 3D, making spaceships and animations using Blender and Procreate. He has worked in the film and television industry for over a decade, releasing his own short animation Floaters in 2020.

Best known for his work on The Fifth Element, Wayne Haag is a digital matte painter, science fiction oil painter, and illustrator for film and television. Wayne has worked as a matte painter for the The Lord of the Rings franchise and more recently done concept art for Alien Covenant, The Wolverine, and Maze Runner. We spoke with Wayne to learn about how he got started in the business, how he got to where he is now, and his take on modern science fiction.

This week we’re speaking with Sergio Sandoval, concept artist and comic artist whose work many of us will recognise in The Faun from Guillermo del Toro’s Pan's Labyrinth. Sandoval has also collaborated with Guillermo del Toro on Hellboy and Hellboy II: Golden Army, as well as DC Comics on Superman, Batman, Arrow and more. We spoke with Sandoval to learn about the process behind his creative visions and where his skills will take him next.
